THE AREA / THINGS TO DO AND PLACES TO SEE

Northumberland  has  some  of  the  most  unspoilt  landscapes in  Britain  with  miles and miles of  empty  sandy  beaches.  Countless  castles scatter  the  countryside, alongside  some  great  country  houses and  gardens from  its  rich and  often turbulent  history being  on  the  border between  England and  Scotland.

Bamburgh  is also an  ideal  place  to visit  the  Holy  Island  of  Lindisfarne,  the  famous  Farne  Islands with  their  fabulous  birdlife  including  the  comical Puffins, the  World  Heritage  site  of  Hadrian’s Wall is  only  an  hour’s  drive away and  Alnwick  Castle and  Garden are  close  by. It  is  also  an  ideal  launching  spot  to  see  the  sites  of  Edinburgh and  York along  with the  City of  Newcastle famous for its  renowned  shopping, nightlife, Baltic Art  Gallery and The  Sage Concert  Hall.
